Health & Safety Survey
September 15, 2006

Since everyone returned to classes this fall, I’ve heard many reports of cleaning, air quality, and other health and safety concerns at MATC. I’m trying to get an idea of the extent of the problem.

Please do a survey of your offices, labs, classrooms, and restrooms, and let me know if you see (or smell) anything that might pose a health and safety risk. This includes:

  • Cleaning (or lack thereof)
  • Dust, mold, or litter
  • Water leaks (plumbing or roof)
  • Temperature (too hot or cold)
  • Lighting fixture burned out
  • Ceiling or floor tiles missing or damaged
  • Poor ventilation or air flow
  • Asbestos or insulation exposed
  • Anything else that's unsafe or unhealthy

Please fill out a Request for Action form (attached), and we’ll do what we can to get the problems resolved. We’re trying to get the college to recommit to a safe and healthy environment, and we need your help!
