Health and Safety

The Health and Safety Committee of Local 212 was established
as a result of concerns about indoor air quality (IAQ) at
MATC. In 1998 the union received a grant from the AFT to
do an environmental quality survey, and to set up a health
and safety committee. Members of our committee now represent
Local 212 on the college’s Joint Indoor Air Quality
Committee, which also includes representatives from Local
587, Construction Services, Engineering Services, and the
Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator.
If you have an IAQ concern, or any other
health and safety concern, please do not hesitate to contact
me or other committee members. Fill out a Request
for Action Form or give me a call at 297-6276. Feel
free to attend our IAQ Committee Meetings, which are open
to the college community. We welcome participation and input
from all Local 212 members, including those at the regional
campuses.
