Local 212 Hosts Great Lakes FAST Fund Consortium

The Local 212 FAST Fund hosted the 2nd Annual AFT Great Lakes FAST Fund Consortium Fall 2023 on September 19. Union leaders from locals interested in joining the second cohort, joined the founding Locals (Local 212, as well as Local 4100/University Professionals of Illinois, and Local 1600/City Colleges of Chicago Teachers Union) and leadership and staff from Believe in Students, Inc. to review accomplishments from the cohort’s first year and to plan for 2024.

The keynote speaker was Believe in Students and FAST Fund founder, Dr. Sara Goldrick-Rab. Local 212 FAST Fund Director, Liz Franczyk,Local 212 President Lisa Conley, and Local 212 Retirees/FAST Fund Volunteers Mike Rosen and Carol Holley, served on afternoon panels. A special thank you to Ann Wilson and the staff at Hillside Family Resource Center for providing facilities and wonderful hospitality for the event. The day culminated with a wonderful and well-attended reception at the Bader Foundation.
