New Local 212 Vice President Part Time Faculty Luz Sosa

Luz is an economics instructor at MATC. (M.S.A.E. Marquette University, B.A. Marquette University). She was born in Asuncion, the capital and largest city of Paraguay, in South America. She moved to the United States with her family when she was 16 years old. She was the Latino outreach organizer for Citizen Action of Wisconsin where she oversaw helping the Latino communities on issues regarding Health Care, Economic Equality, and Voting Rights.

Luz is very active in the community, giving her time and support wherever she can. She is very excited to be working with AFT Wisconsin to support MATC instructors and students encouraging them to vote in the upcoming elections in November. You will be receiving a call from her. Please make sure to reach out in case you have questions or comments. Also, reach out if you would like to get more involved. She’s looking for volunteers to help with election work. Please remember that a union is only as strong as its members. "A union is like a gym membership, you can’t get strong unless you show up!"

If part time faculty have questions or concerns, do not hesitate, contact Luz at lsosa@local212.org
