Local 212 Stands with Local 587

Standing in solidarity with AFSCME Local 587, Local 212 leadership has communicated to President Cruz our concern and disappointment with the College’s decision to evict Local 587 from its 5th floor Foundation Hall office without offer of a suitable alternative on-campus site from which its leadership can continue their representation work on the behalf of what is a substantial segment of MATC’s employee population. Upon recommendation Local 587 contacted AFSCME and WERC and filed paperwork for holding a WERC recognition election. The College has been notified of this request.
